Youtube pays $16 for “Never Gonna Give You Up” Plays

By now you’re probably sick of being rickrolled, especially after last year when Youtube made every video you clicked on April Fools go directly to Rick Astley’s video. So what were the royalties paid out to songwriter Pete Watermen for the over 150 million plays the song received? $16. According to him, he makes more from an old fashioned radio station. Does it seem fair? It all depends on your views of Youtube’s principle.
